Jong

Op 't leuke Nederlandse (dutchdares ;) blog een challenge om iets te doen met 'jong'. Ik was net bezig met een lo met wat restjes en troepjes en een kleine foto ... van mijn toen nog zeer jonge broer.

Niet helemaal geslaagd maar toch wel een leuke lo geworden.

On that one day with a bit of sunshine in the beginning of May I took a walk in an area with Highlander cows. This big girl was very close and looking at me intensly, I loved it!

The paper is 'Authentic' . The is sketch is by Leah, from Stuck on us sketches ....

Done some stitching, inkt, background with medium gel, lots of flowers en little buttons...

Workshop in Sprang Capelle

Vorige week een workshop van Anna 'Finnabair'Dabrowska gedaan bij de Scrapheap. Duur, 60 euro, maar goed het leek me leuk.
Was het leuk, hmmm, het was OKE-achtig. Het is makkelijk om heel veel spullen op een layout te plakken, daar moest ik steeds aan denken. Als designer voor Prima is je stack onuitputtelijk, maar als gewone scrapper is dat natuurlijk een uitdaging ... ik doe dat normaal niet, vind het leuker om met allerlei gewone spulletjes (papier, bloemen en kant) een layout te maken. Het sunrise papier van Prima is ook niet mijn favoriet, veel te hard van kleur... En dat je thee kunt gebruiken voor een beetje splatter&gore wisten we al.
Wat was wel leuk: Anna is echt wel OK en niet over the top, ze gaf leuke tips mbt opbouw van een pagina en beeldaspecten.

Ik vond de layout veel te donker en te somber (door er op het laatst nog zwarte verfspray bij kwam), en heb 'm met crackle paint nog een beetje lichter gemaakt. Al met al een leuke middag, en ook leuk om de winkel in Sprang Capelle een keer te zien. Maar, het was de reis vanuit Amsterdam en het geld voor de workshop eigenlijk niet waard ....

SOUS Chinese family

I really love Stuck on us sketches: constant new challenges and beautiful work as inspiration. This sketch was difficult to me, I'm not very good with dioganal lines .... I always try to make everyting straight ;)

But I gave it a shot anyway...

In Xian, China, -the town known for the unbelievable Terra Cotta army- we made a nice excursion to the City wall. It's wide and you can cycle around it. I took a walk. Met up with this fun chinese family dressed in colourfull raincoats. It's special to meet a family like this in China, with the 1-child policy al those years. Everywhere you see families with only one kid -mostly terribly spoiled -

The paper is Pink Paislee, used a Unity stamp and dylusions ink spray.

Marrakech

The new blog Scrap around the world, provides a beautiful moodboard and a super sketch:

Made a layout about my favo city in the world Marrakech, where the mix old-new is unbelievable.

Have used lots of scraps (Prima H Swap), stamp, masks and some liquid pearls.

After putting it up for SATW i've made some changes in the layout (title&tag) ...
Looks a little better now.

MSC: Cool cat

Made a Layout with a picture of my nephew Krijn. Love the aprilsketch on My Creative Sketches.

Used some leftover Kaisercraft and Glitz paper.
In 2010 in Avignon France we had a good time, with family. Krijn posed professionaly on a modern art work, with the old famous wall as a background.

Used a die from TH for the letters and the paper of a Nespresso bag, how cool is that ;)

S365: Happy Outside

This sketch is so much fun, it's on Sketchbook 365.

I've used Kaisercraft paper/chipboard and Petaloo flowers.
I felt so happy walking in the beautifull Twiske near Amsterdam, on the first sunny springday of 2013.
